A motion sensor (or motion detector) is an electronic device that is designed to detect and measure movement. Motion sensors are used primarily in home and business security systems, but they can also be found in phones, paper towel dispensers, game consoles, and virtual reality systems. Unlike many other types of sensors (which can be handheld and isolated), motion sensors are typically embedded systems with three major components: a sensor unit, an embedded computer, and hardware (or the mechanical component). These three parts vary in size and configuration, as motion sensors can be customized to perform highly specific functions. For example, motion sensors can be used to activate floodlights, trigger audible alarms, activate switches, and even alert the police.
A microwave motion sensor uses electro-magnetic radiation. It emits waves which are then reflected back to the receiver. The receiver analyzes the waves that are bounced back. If there is an object moving in the room, these waves are going to be altered.
A smart sensor is a device that takes input from the physical environment and uses built-in compute resources to perform predefined functions upon detection of specific input and then process data before passing it on.
Presence sensors – also known as motion sensors – are actually the key components of motion detector products.
As long as the ray path blocked by kids, pets, disables, or any persons standing in the passage, the safety beam sensor or light barrier will immediately detect the obstacle and stop the door from closing, prevent the people or objects in between from being clamped.
A Light Safety Curtain is a sensing device designed to protect personnel from injury. These devices are most commonly used in factory automation for machine safeguarding. Unlike typical photoelectric sensors, safety light curtains monitor themselves through redundant signals and will stop the hazard.
An integrated sensor is the core technology of a sensor without the package. It allows for multiple sensor technologies to be combined or "integrated" into a single plug-and-play assembly.
The radar safety sensor is insensitive to dust, debris, moisture, sparks or temperature changes, making it ideal for outdoor installations or harsh industrial environments. For use with LBK-C22 control unit. Suitable for access protection and restart prevention.
An Infrared Combined Sensor is a radiation-sensitive optoelectronic component with a spectral sensitivity in the infrared wavelength range 780 nm … 50 µm. Infrared Combined Sensor are now widely used in motion detectors, which are used in building services to switch on lamps or in alarm systems to detect unwelcome guests.
Touchless Switch is switch which can be activated without contact/touching.
